New "Drop-In" Class Rates effective Sept. 1, 2014
The Battell Community Center is located at 904 N. Main St, Mishawaka. The Community Center is a thriving spot for people of ALL AGES and INTERESTS to join in affordable classes, recreation and club activities, and to enjoy the entertainment of theater, music, and much more.
Classes and programs that are offered at the Battell Community Center include Zumba, line dancing, Middle Eastern dance, yoga, and various health and fitness classes. Music and art classes for all levels are offered such as watercolor, pastels, organ, and quilt making.
The Battell Community Center Auditorium is also open to the public and available to rent for weddings and performances. A state of the art sound and lighting system was recently installed to add ease and accessibility for renter’s use and enhance audience’s experience. Throughout the year the Battell Center is host to theatrical, seasonal, and musical performances open to the public.
The Battell Community Center is rich in local history beginning as Battell Elementary School in 1900. The west addition facing Main Street was added in 1920. In 1982 the City of Mishawaka purchased the facility for $1.00 generating further renovations. Several renovations later the Community Center is still open to accommodate all ages!
