DEA Drug Take Back Day October 27th

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.- St. Joseph County will be participating in the bi-annual DEA Drug Take Back Day. On Saturday October 27th, people can drop off pills and med patches at locations all across the county. Those dropping off medication can put all the pills together into a zip-lock bag and then recycle the empty pill bottles. 

Mayor Wood Participates in Marian Knights Service Day

Mayor Dave Wood along with Juniors and Seniors from Marian High School participated in Knights Service Day on Wednesday, October 17th. Together, they worked on the Habitat for Humanity site at the corner of Byrkit and Jefferson Road in Mishawaka and laid the sod on House #5, finished the sod on House #4, and completed sod on House #28. Habitat representatives were surprised at how much work these students were able to get done in four short hours as they did not expect them to get the sod completed on House #5 let alone complete work on two other yards.

Leaf Collection Begins October 22nd

The Mishawaka Street Department will begin the city’s annual fall leaf collection program on Monday, October 22, 2018 and will follow a schedule that should help residents plan their leaf raking activities. Residents may begin raking leaves to their curbside starting the weekend of October 20-21.

City Plans Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

Ribbon cutting ceremonies are planned to celebrate the renovation and upgrade of Castle Manor in Merrifield Park as well as the completion of Rosemary's Garden in Battell Park.
