Proposed 2018 Lincolnway (SR 933)
Resurfacing & Lane Reconfiguration

(Logan Street to Capital Avenue)

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), as part of their continued maintenance of this State Highway, is planning to resurface sections of Lincolnway. Patching and repair should take place in the fall of 2018 with resurfacing to be done in 2019. As part of the resurfacing that will occur next year, the City has requested a partnership to restripe/mark Lincolnway (SR 933) between Capital Avenue (SR331) and Logan Street within the City of Mishawaka.

Summary of Proposed Changes

The City of Mishawaka hired the Troyer Group, a local Mishawaka based consulting engineering firm, to prepare plans that restripe the corridor to three lanes to better identify travel patterns. This will provide for one lane traveling east, one lane traveling west, and a common center turn lane. This will also modify or eliminate on street parking in certain areas depending on the pavement width in that location. We believe that the proposed striping plans, when implemented will significantly improve traffic flow and safety through the corridor.

A public meeting for both information and input by the public will be held July 17th at 7pm in the Common Council Chambers, Room 104, 600 East Third Street in Mishawaka. Representatives of both the City and the Troyer Group will be present to review plans and answer any questions on the proposed restriping.
