YOUTH TACKLE FOOTBALL

2016 Game Schedule | Registration Form | Physical Form | Parent Code of Conduct

 

This program teaches the basic fundamentals of football and has become a feeder system for Mishawaka High School’s football program. Early registration for this fall program is typically from mid-April through mid-August. It is open to children entering 3rd-6th grades in the fall who meet the eligibility requirements above. The program offers 2 leagues: "A" (5th-6th Grades), and "B" (3rd-4th Grades).

The Mishawaka Football League teaches the basic fundamentals of tackle football. Teams are formed by a random draw based on weight and grade. Conditioning takes place Monday – Thursday during the first two weeks of the season at Bendix Park. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays (following conditioning weeks) also at Bendix Park.  Games will be held at John Young Middle School and Hums Park on Sunday afternoons.

Fee: $125; sibling discounts available. Includes equipment rental and game jersey. 

 

YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL

Introduce your child to the game of football in a less physical environment. Available for youths in Grades 1 & 2 (as enrolled for the coming fall school year), youth flag football will teach beginning players the basics rules and skills used for football. Teams will be formed by a random draw. Practices are held Mondays and Wednesdays beginning August 28th at Bendix Park. Games will be Sunday afternoons at John Young Middle School from September 17th through October 22. Registration deadline in August 16th.

Fee: $55/child (includes game shirt)

NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK

Saturday, September 16 at Merrifield Park

Open to youths ages 6-15 (as of Dec 31 of the current year). Each participant is allowed one punt, pass and kick competing in separate age categories of boys and girls. 1st place finishers advance to the sectional competition to compete against other 1st place finished from other local competitions. Registration deadline is September 15.

YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE

These eight week programs will be separated into 2 leagues: 3 to 4yr olds and 5 to 6yr olds. Rules will be modified to help kids have a great time learning basketball and being successful. All practices and games will be held at the Battell Community Center according to the following schedule -- practices will be on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings; games will be played on Saturday mornings. Players will be placed on teams by friendship request or with fellow schoolmates when possible.

Fee: $30/child

YOUTH / TOT SOCCER LEAGUE

This eight-week program will be separated into two leagues: 3 to 4yr olds and 5 to 6yr olds. Rules will be modified to help kids have a great time learning soccer and being successful. All practices and games will be held at the Battell Community Center according to the following schedule -- practices will be on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings; games will be played on Saturday mornings. Players will be placed on teams by friendship request or with fellow schoolmates when possible.

Fee: $30/child

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

Adult Sports Schedules & Information

ADULT VOLLEYBALL

Mishawaka Parks is offering an Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League in 2017. The season will run from February 6 - April 19 with games played on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-9pm at Emmons Elementary School. Participants must be 18 or older.

Registration deadline is January 16, 2017; cost per team is $120.
