The 30th Annual Mishawaka Summerfest will be held at Merrifield & Crawford Parks Friday, June 21st from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and all day Saturday, June 22nd, 2013. In celebration of the 30th anniversay, this year we are offering 30 distinct events and attractions.
Summerfest kicks off once again this year on Friday, beginning at noon, with food vendors and the arts and crafts booths open for business. Inflatables and games will be on the lawn for the kids at Crawford Park which will also include a petting zoo, pony rides, and pig races. As the day turns to evening, the musical entertainment begins with an exhibition from the Mishawaka High School Band followed by an evening of Blues music. The Bobby Lee Caldwell band takes the stage at 6:00pm with the Elwood Splinters Blues Band headlining the event at 8:00pm. Fireworks will follow the evening's concerts starting at dusk.
Start your Saturday with a Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Mishawaka Lion's Club. Tickets are $6 for adults, and $3 for runners and children under the age of 12. The 5K Run / Walk begins at 8:00am from Mishawaka High School as does the Michiana MOPAR Club Car Show in Crawford Park. Craft & Food vendors, Commercial Vendors and the Service tents open at 9:00am followed by Kids Zone at 10:00am. 3-on-3 Youth Basketball, Pig Races, Karaoke, Historic Bus Tours, a Treasure Hunt and much more all take place throughout the day. Entertainment begins at 4:00 with the ever-popular local band Everyday People followed by Velvet Jones at 6:30pm. Stereovain finishes out the night starting at 8:30pm with fireworks to follow at dusk.
New to Summerfest this year is the Local Business Venue where local businesses can showcase their products and
services, distribute promotional items & hold raffles. No on-site sales will be permitted so you can interact with these folks in a low-pressure, relaxed environment.
