City of Mishawaka Announces Independence Day Celebration Details and Cedar Street Bridge Access Update
The City of Mishawaka is proud to welcome residents and visitors to our annual Celebración del Día de la Independencia on Saturday, June 28, 2025. The evening will feature a full slate of family-friendly activities, patriotic festivities, and our beloved fireworks display over the St. Joseph River. We look forward to celebrating together, Mishawaka-style!
As always, public safety and smooth event operations remain our top priorities.
🔴 Important Notice: Cedar Street Bridge Access During Celebration
In coordination with ongoing construction efforts the Cedar Street Bridge remains closed, the Cedar Street Bridge will be accessible to Emergency Vehicles only on Saturday, June 28—from 9:30pm to 11:30pm. No pedestrian traffic will be permitted.

Law enforcement and first responders will use the bridge exclusively to support event safety and ensure rapid response times during the celebration.

We ask for the public’s cooperation in adhering to posted signage and following all safety instructions around the bridge area.

Live music and food vendors will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Children’s activities and family zones will be available throughout the evening.

Él fireworks display will begin promptly at 10:00 p.m., viewable from multiple riverfront locations.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and use designated public parking lots and appropriate street parking as well.
