Keep Your Water Flowing This Winter: Tips to Avoid Frozen Pipes As temperatures plummet this winter, the Mishawaka Utilities Water Division is asking all Mishawaka residents and MU Water customers to take simple precautions to protect their homes and our water system from the costly and inconvenient damage caused by frozen water lines. When temperatures drop below freezing for an extended period, water in pipes can freeze, expand, and cause pipes to burst, leading to water loss and expensive repairs. To help prevent this, we recommend letting your water trickle from a faucet during frigid weather. A small, steady stream of water can keep your lines flowing and reduce the risk of freezing. Why Should You Let Your Water Trickle? Moving water is less likely to freeze. It relieves pressure in your pipes, minimizing the risk of bursting. It’s an affordable and easy way to protect your home during extreme cold.

Step back into the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s and soak up the electric vibes at Mishawaka Retrofest! Retrofest will be rocking on Saturday, June 14th, from 2 pm to 10 pm at Ironworks Plaza, 230 Ironworks Ave, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Retrofest will be presented by Mishawaka Parks, Molson Coors, Boston Beer Co. and JL Entertainment.

At Retrofest, guests can expect live retro music, free retro video arcades, food trucks, and retro photo opportunities for families and friends. At 3 pm, The Crawpuppies will sing some jammin ‘70s tunes, at 5:30 pm The 1985 will perform a Totally ‘80s Mixtape. At 8 pm, Fool House will conclude the celebration with The Ultimate ‘90s Party.

Retrofest is a CASHLESS entry and cashless bar; however, food trucks will accept cash. Tickets to Retrofest are $5 in advance, and $10 at the gate; children twelve and under are free if accompanied by an adult.

Guests can bring lawn chairs, but they are only allowed in specific sections. Guests can bring small bags, but no outside food or beverages. Regarding parking, there will be free parking at the east and west side of The Mill, free parking on the first two floors of The Mill parking garage, free parking at the Chicory Event Center, and free parking at Mishawaka City Hall.
