The City of Mishawaka invites the community to attend the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newly transformed Normain Park, home to Indiana’s first Miracle League Complex, on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, at 11:00 am at 200 E McKinley Ave.
The Normain Park and Miracle League project represents one of the City’s most significant investments in accessibility, inclusion, and community recreation. Designed to ensure individuals of all abilities can participate, play, and thrive together, the new Miracle League Complex creates opportunities for friendship, recreation, and lifelong memories for children, families, and visitors throughout the region.
The ceremony will celebrate the completion of a remarkable transformation featuring Indiana’s First Miracle League Baseball Complex, the Pfeil Miracle League Baseball Field, Lillie’s Inclusive Playground which will feature the City of Mishawaka’s first fully gated playground with automatic self-closing safety gates, and Sophie’s Garden, a sensory garden providing a peaceful retreat for individuals with sensory sensitivities.
The park will also include a splash pad, softball field, Sona Arch Interactive Play Feature, modern pavilions, restroom facility with adult changing tables, expanded parking, an entry plaza, a jumbotron video board, and accessible bleachers and spectator areas.
The Normain Park project reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive recreational opportunities where every child and family feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to participate.
Mayor Dave Wood, members of the Mishawaka Common Council, the Mishawaka Park Board, the Mishawaka Parks Foundation, donors, community partners, volunteers, and project supporters will join together to celebrate this historic milestone. The City of Mishawaka hopes to see you all there.
