Ribbon Cutting Celebrates New Women’s Care Center in Mishawaka
Facility expands access to compassionate, no-cost support for women and families
Mishawaka, Ind. — October 7, 2025 (11:00 a.m.) — Community leaders, healthcare partners, donors, and neighbors gathered this morning for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the grand opening of the Centro de Atención a la Mujer in Mishawaka. The event celebrated an expanded, welcoming space designed to provide compassionate care and practical support to women and families—at no cost.
Mayor Dave Wood praised the Center’s mission and the collaborative effort that brought the project to completion. “This is about access, dignity, and hope,” said one Mayor Wood. “The Women’s Care Center meets people where they are and walks with them—without barriers or judgment.”
What the Center Offers
The Women’s Care Center model emphasizes confidential, relationship-based care.
Leaders at the Center emphasized that services are free, confidential, and delivered by trained staff and volunteers committed to long-term support. “We often meet clients in one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives,” a Center spokesperson noted. “Our goal is to surround them with care today and walk beside them for as long as they need.”
