On Monday, May 25th, 2026, the City of Mishawaka celebrated the annual Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony presented by the Veterans of Foreign Affairs (VFW).
The Memorial Day Parade is organized by VFW Post 360 and American Legion Post 161 in partnership with the City of Mishawaka and local veteran organizations.
The Parade is one of Mishawaka’s most earnest community traditions which always provides an opportunity for Mishawaka residents and visitors to come together and honor the fallen heroes of America.
This year, the parade’s theme was “250 Years of Sacrifice.” The theme celebrates the approaching 250th anniversary of the United States and honors all generations of brave men and women who have served, protected, and made the ultimate sacrifice towards the protection of the United States.
The 2026 Memorial Day Parade had an incredible turnout, with citizens of all ages showing out to honor those who have served the United States. Citizens from Mishawaka and neighboring areas showed out to participate in the meaningful Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony.
Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood participated in the parade. Mayor Wood drove a truck showing off a patriotic shoe statue. The shoe was painted and designed by the Mayor Dave Wood Youth Advisory Council showcasing all their hard work and dedication to “Project Shoe City.”
The Parade and Ceremony also featured Veterans Organizations, Military Tributes, Public Safety Agencies, Community Organizations, Patriotic Music, Civic Leaders, and a remembrance honoring the United States fallen heroes.
The City of Mishawaka thanks VFW Post 360, American Legion Post 161, participating veterans’ organizations, volunteers, public safety personnel, and all parade participants helping make this important community tradition possible. As well as all who attended The Annual Memorial Day Parade to honor the brave soldiers who have served our country.
