Police Department, responsible for managing field training to prepare officer trainees for law enforcement duties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEBERES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Develops, manages, and coordinates field training for new hires, including issuing training materials, assigning training schedules, assigning trainee to Field Training Officers (FTO), monitoring overall performance of field training, ensuring performance evaluations are completed, and issuing certification upon completion.<\/p>\n<p>Develops, manages, and coordinates training for FTOs, including issuing training materials, mentoring, and supervising performance, conducting meetings, and ensuring ongoing training standards are met.<\/p>\n<p>Serves as instructor in field training for new hires and training of FTOs.<\/p>\n<p>Assists in designing training materials for new hires, FTOs, and instructors, including outlining requirements, expectations, and objectives, and ensuring quality of materials.<\/p>\n<p>Conducts review meetings with FTOs, including providing updates to department directives, procedures, training methods, and laws, and discussing training problems and possible improvements.<\/p>\n<p>Assists in supervising and directing assigned personnel, including interviewing applicants, orienting new subordinates, planning, delegating, and controlling work assignments and special projects, establishing specific work goals, training, developing, and motivating, evaluating performance results, and communicating and administering personnel programs and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Identifies and allocates appropriate resources to accomplish department training goals and objectives.<br \/>\nEnsures officers in training understand and adhere to policies, procedures, Chief\u2019s directives, duty manual, and other materials applicable to officers\u2019 responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Maintains chain of command by passing orders through subordinate officers and keeping superior officers informed of current developments and results during shift.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinates with superior officers to ensure proper personnel reports and records are maintained.<\/p>\n<p>Serves as liaison with training coordinators from other law enforcement agencies and police academy staff.<\/p>\n<p>Maintains current knowledge of applicable City, County, State, diploma or HSE required.<\/p>\n<p>Must be at least 21 years of age.<\/p>\n<p>Ability to successfully complete training course related to supervision of field training within one year as determined by department.<\/p>\n<p>Ability to meet all departmental hiring and retention requirements, including passage of written exams, drug screen, and background investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Thorough knowledge of and ability to ensure standardized training and evaluation of officers and facilitate the transition from academic setting to actual performance of law enforcement duties.<\/p>\n<p>Thorough knowledge of and ability to make practical application of the customary practices, procedures, rules, and regulations of the department.<\/p>\n<p>Thorough knowledge of applicable City, County, State, and federal laws, regulations, and ordinances relating to law enforcement activities.<\/p>\n<p>Working knowledge of and ability to use all assigned department equipment and weapons, including but not limited to computer, keyboard, calculator, camera, printer, and telephone.<\/p>\n<p>Working knowledge of standard practices and procedures in administering first aid and CPR.<\/p>\n<p>Working knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation, and ability to complete detailed reports within department deadlines.<\/p>\n<p>Ability to assist with supervising and directing assigned personnel, including interviewing applicants, orienting new subordinates, planning, delegating, and controlling work assignments and special projects, establishing specific work goals, training, developing, and motivating, evaluating performance results, and communicating and administering personnel programs and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Ability to obey all written and verbal orders and record.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Incumbent performs a variety of training coordination, instruction, and supervisory duties according to standard operating procedures of the department, making independent decisions and taking authoritative action in response to situational demands. Incumbent serves as training coordinator and makes recommendations to Pass\/Fail and trainee.
