Incumbent serves as a part time Financial Analyst for the Controller\u2019s Office, responsible for performing accounting functions and assisting the Controller and Deputy Controller as necessary.<\/p>\n

Receipts in money<\/p>\n

Post accounts receivable and ACH payments<\/p>\n

Prepares A\/P vouchers<\/p>\n

Inputs A\/P batches<\/p>\n

Balances bank statements to the ledger<\/p>\n

Balances credit card statement<\/p>\n

Updates meters in the utility business office software<\/p>\n

Processes restaurant licenses<\/p>\n

Performs related duties as assigned<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I. <\/strong>JOB REQUIREMENTS<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Baccalaureate degree in accounting, finance or equivalent and full-cycle general ledger professional accounting experience with demonstrated increasing responsibility or equivalent work experience<\/p>\n

Debe tener al menos 18 a\u00f1os de edad.<\/p>\n

Ability to meet all departmental hiring requirements, including passage of a drug test.<\/p>\n

Thorough knowledge of accounting\/budget\/bookkeeping practices and procedures, with ability to maintain complete and accurate financial records and prepare related reports and documents as required.<\/p>\n

Practical knowledge of standard office practices and procedures and basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, email, internet, with ability to learn Department-specific software applications such as financial management, accounting, and payroll software and to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks, and operations.<\/p>\n

Working knowledge of standard customer service practices with ability to apply excellent verbal communication and customer service skills in person, by email, and on telephone.<\/p>\n

Working knowledge of basic filing systems and ability to create and maintain Department files and records.<\/p>\n

Working knowledge of rules, regulations, and policies\/procedures regarding Department operations and programs.<\/p>\n

Working knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling, and punctuation with ability to prepare documents, correspondence, and detailed reports.<\/p>\n

Ability to properly operate a variety of standard office equipment, including computer, calculator, printer, copier, scanner, fax machine, postage meter, and telephone.<\/p>\n

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other City employees, other State, County, City departments, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities.<\/p>\n

Ability to count, compute, perform arithmetic operations, compare, observe and analyze data, compile, classify data, and make data-driven decisions.<\/p>\n

Ability to understand, memorize, retain, and carry out oral and written instructions and present findings in oral or written form.<\/p>\n

Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and with others in a team environment, work on several tasks at the same time, work amidst frequent distractions, and often work under time pressure.<\/p>\n

Ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information and records according to State requirements.<\/p>\n

Incumbent contributes to overall departmental operations by exercising independent judgment in applying departmental objectives to specific cases and circumstances. Incumbent discusses with supervisor any interpretations of departmental objectives, and work product is reviewed upon completion for attainment of objectives and compliance with objectives.<\/p>\n

Incumbent maintains frequent contact with co-workers, other City employees, other State, County, City departments, and the public for purposes of giving and receiving information and explaining financial information.<\/p>\n

V. <\/strong>PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Incumbent performs duties in a standard office environment, involving sitting\/walking at will, sitting for long periods, lifting\/carrying objects weighing under 50 pounds, handling\/grasping objects, pushing\/pulling objects, bending\/reaching, crouching\/kneeling, keyboarding, close\/far vision, color\/depth perception, speaking clearly, and hearing sounds\/communication.<\/p>\n
