Mishawaka Utilities has long been recognized for providing some of the most affordable utility rates in the State of Indiana. This is not by accident\u2014it is the product of careful planning, sound financial stewardship, and a deep commitment to our residents.<\/p>\n

Our water, sewer\/wastewater, electric, and trash services are not only affordable but also highly dependable and sustainable.<\/strong> Even with the proposed increase in wastewater rates of 3.75% annually over the next five years, Mishawaka will continue to remain among the most affordable utility providers in the state. This is by design, and it is central to what we call The Mishawaka Way<\/em>: planning prudently, managing responsibly, and always putting our citizens first.<\/p>\n

Affordable, sustainable utilities matter because they are at the foundation of what makes Mishawaka such a livable city. We are proud to be one of the very few communities in Indiana where affordability is matched by our number one priority public safety <\/strong>and quality of life focus <\/strong>which <\/strong>son<\/strong> second to none.<\/strong> Our crime rate has declined in 13 of the last 14 years. Families here not only enjoy low utility costs but also the security of safe neighborhoods.\u00a0 We are also committed to improving quality of life for our residents. Parks are not extras; they are essential. They strengthen families, connect neighborhoods, and lift the human spirit.<\/p>\n

We have touched nearly every one of Mishawaka\u2019s 29 parks with meaningful improvements over the past 20 years, making each one it\u2019s own unique destination. These parks are all stabilizing forces in the neighborhoods they serve, offering facilities for safe physical activity, family and community gatherings and events, Indeed, serving as town squares of sorts in their neighborhoods.<\/p>\n

Add to that a strong educational foundation\u2014whether through the School City of Mishawaka, Penn-Harris-Madison, or our excellent private and parochial schools\u2014and you see why Mishawaka stands apart.
