Air Quality Action Day – Tuesday, June 17th

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has declared that today Tuesday, June 17th is an Air Quality Action Day in northern Indiana for Ozone.

Ozone

Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups 

Sensitive groups (people with respiratory diseases, older adults, and children) should reduce prolonged outdoor exertion, and continue checking the air quality this week to determine when it is best to be active outdoors.

Particulate Matter (PM 2.5) 

Moderate

 

Do your part to help clean the air by taking action!

  1. Bike, walk, carpool, or take the bus
  2. Perform regular vehicle maintenance
  3. Conserve fuel by combining trips
  4. Refuel your car in the evening
  5. Reduce engine idling time
