Celebrate Memorial Day The Mishawaka Way On Monday May 25th, 2026.

Mark your calendars and join the City of Mishawaka on Monday, May 25th, 2026, for the annual Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony presented by the Veterans of Foreign Affairs (VFW).

The annual Memorial Day Parade is organized by VFW Post 360 and American Legion Post 161 in partnership with the City of Mishawaka and local veteran organizations.

The theme of this year’s parade is “250 Years of Sacrifice.” The theme chosen celebrates the approaching 250th anniversary of the United States and honors all generations of brave men and women who have served, protected, and made the ultimate sacrifice towards the protection of the United States.

The Memorial Day Parade will begin at 9:30 am in Downtown Mishawaka at the intersection of Main Street and Third Street. The parade route will continue north along Main Street before proceeding west on Mishawaka Avenue. The parade will conclude near Battell Park and Forest Avenue where the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony will begin immediately.

The Parade and Ceremony will feature Veterans Organizations, Military Tributes, Public Safety Agencies, Community Organizations, Patriotic Music, Civic Leaders, and a remembrance honoring the United States fallen heroes.

The Annual Memorial Day Parade is one of Mishawaka’s most earnest community traditions which provides an opportunity for Mishawaka residents and visitors to come together and honor the fallen heroes of America and remember all generations of soldiers who have served our country.

Mayor Dave Wood is encouraging the community to attend and reflect upon the true meaning of Memorial Day.

“Memorial Day reminds us that freedom is never free,” states Mayor Wood. “As we gather together as a community, we honor those who gave everything for our country and remember the sacrifices made over generations to preserve the liberties we enjoy today.”

All residents are welcome to participate in the meaningful Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony. The City encourages all attending the Parade to arrive early for parking and seating along the Parade route.

The City of Mishawaka thanks VFW Post 360, American Legion Post 161, participating veterans’ organizations, volunteers, public safety personnel, and all parade participants helping make this important community tradition possible.
