It is with great pride that we congratulate Dawn Christine Krop on her incredible academic achievement in earning her Master of Science in Human Resource Management (MSHRM) from Western Governors University this past April. This accomplishment, recognized at the WGU graduation ceremony in Orlando, FL, marks the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Dawn’s journey with the City of Mishawaka began in April 2017 when she was hired as HR Office Manager. Her professionalism, passion for people, and drive to make a meaningful impact in the organization quickly became evident. She achieved SHRM certification in July 2020, further solidifying her role as a strategic HR leader. By January 2021, her leadership and expertise earned her a well-deserved promotion to Assistant HR Director.

Dawn continued to advance both her career and education, earning her Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management in April 2023, again from WGU. Her recent achievement of a master’s degree in April 2024 is a testament to her dedication to the field of human resources and her desire to continuously improve both personally and professionally.

Throughout her time with the City, Dawn has played an instrumental role in improving HR processes, recruiting top talent, and ensuring compliance with ever-changing regulations. She excels in strategic planning, employee engagement, and fostering a positive work environment—qualities that have helped the City of Mishawaka thrive.

Dawn’s expertise in HR Business Partnership, strategic HR leadership, and talent management has allowed her to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and contribute to the transformation of HR functions across the city. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented leader in our HR department.
