Keep Bins Clear: Please ensure all bins are placed at least 3 feet away from cars, other bins, and any other objects. This helps our crews collect trash and recycling efficiently and safely.  Please do not place the WM bins on the other side of cars where that arms of the truck cannot reach them!

Ethan Nowacki Joins the Mishawaka Police Department as Probationary Patrol Officer

The City of Mishawaka is proud to announce that Ethan Nowacki has officially joined the Mishawaka Police Department (MPD) as a Probationary Patrol Officer. Mayor Dave Wood had the honor of swearing him in during a ceremony held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Ethan, a 22-year-old Mishawaka native, is a proud graduate of Mishawaka High School, Class of 2021. Following high school, he attended Ball State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science earlier this year. While excelling academically, Ethan also cultivated a personal passion for weightlifting, dedicating much of his free time to fitness and self-improvement.

Law enforcement is a family calling for Ethan. Inspired by his father, Craig Nowacki, who serves as Division Chief of Police, Ethan has long admired the values of service, dedication, and community. His decision to follow in his father’s footsteps is driven by a desire to make a positive impact and contribute to the safety and well-being of Mishawaka.

Ethan recently completed the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, graduating on Friday, December 13, 2024. His training and education have prepared him for the responsibilities of this new role, and he is eager to bring his skills and commitment to the Mishawaka Police Department.

The City of Mishawaka warmly welcomes Officer Ethan Nowacki to the MPD family. We look forward to seeing him uphold the values and traditions of the department while serving and protecting the residents of our great city. Congratulations, Ethan, on this significant achievement, and thank you for choosing to dedicate your career to law enforcement and public service.
