Beginning Monday, July 6th, the limits of the eastbound traffic closure along E. Twelfth Street will be from Laurel Street to Campbell Street as crews transition to the next phase of the Twelfth Street Reconstruction project. Only westbound traffic will be permitted during this phase of construction.
Beginning Monday, July 13th, the intersection of E. Twelfth Street and Laurel Street will be closed to all traffic. Eastbound traffic shall continue to utilize the posted detour route at Union Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured at Merrifield Avenue. Weather permitting, this intersection closure is expected to be in place until Thursday, July 23rd. After July 23rd, traffic will continue to be restricted to westbound only from Laurel Street to Campbell Street until Wednesday, November 25th.
Barricades and signage will be in place during this construction. Motorists are highly encouraged to use the posted detour route to avoid travel delays. Disregarding traffic control devices and barricades is illegal and places construction workers and other motorists in harm’s way.
