Keep Your Water Flowing This Winter: Tips to Avoid Frozen Pipes As temperatures plummet this winter, the Mishawaka Utilities Water Division is asking all Mishawaka residents and MU Water customers to take simple precautions to protect their homes and our water system from the costly and inconvenient damage caused by frozen water lines. When temperatures drop below freezing for an extended period, water in pipes can freeze, expand, and cause pipes to burst, leading to water loss and expensive repairs. To help prevent this, we recommend letting your water trickle from a faucet during frigid weather. A small, steady stream of water can keep your lines flowing and reduce the risk of freezing. Why Should You Let Your Water Trickle? Moving water is less likely to freeze. It relieves pressure in your pipes, minimizing the risk of bursting. It’s an affordable and easy way to protect your home during extreme cold.

Join The City Of Mishawaka For Slide The Hill!

The City of Mishawaka is turning its attention to Slide the Hill, one of the biggest summer events in the City! Slide the Hill will be from August 8th-11th at George Wilson Park, 2605 Clover Rd. Mishawaka, IN 46544. Featured will be four custom-made, commercial grade, 300’ inflatable slip-n-slides down the tubing hills!  

To enjoy the fun-filled weekend, the cost is $7 per person to enter. Tubes or inflatable pool floats are mandatory to enjoy the slide. Sliders should bring their own one-person inflatable pool tube. You can purchase a tube on site, while supplies last for $8. 

Slide the Hill will be divided into six sessions. Each session will be varying hours in length and have a maximum capacity. To attend and participate in the event, you must pre-register! Listed below are each session dates and times: 

Session 1: Friday, August 8th, Pre-School and People with different abilities, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm 

Session 2: Friday, August 8th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm 

Session 3: Saturday, August 9th, 1:00 – 3:00 pm 

Session 4: Saturday, August 9th, 4:00 – 6:00 pm 

Session 5: Sunday, August 10th, 1:00 – 3:00 pm 

Session 6: Monday, August 11th, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
