Mayor Dave Wood Delivers Final Address as 2025 AIM President

October 24, 2025 – French Lick, IN
Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood, who has proudly served as the 2025 President of Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (AIM), delivered his final address at the AIM Annual Conference in French Lick this week—capping off a year of extraordinary leadership, advocacy, and unity among Indiana’s municipal leaders.

In his closing remarks, Mayor Wood reflected on what he described as “one of the most challenging yet inspiring years in AIM’s 125-year history.” Throughout his presidency, Mayor Wood guided the organization and Indiana’s cities and towns through legislative uncertainty, fiscal headwinds, and rapid change—while reinforcing AIM’s mission to strengthen local government and build thriving Hoosier communities.

“This year tested us—it tested our resolve,” Mayor Wood told a packed audience of mayors, clerk-treasurers, council members, and administrators. “But it also proved what local leadership can do when it stands united. When a storm hits, we don’t wait for rescue. We roll up our sleeves, work together, and lead without apology.”

Mayor Wood emphasized that AIM’s collective strength lies in collaboration and shared purpose, noting how municipal leaders across Indiana came together to advocate for fair funding, local control, and responsible governance.

“Indiana’s cities and towns have never been defined by their obstacles,” he said. “We are defined by our resilience. And as we face new challenges, I have absolute confidence that we will turn them into opportunities to strengthen our communities for generations to come.”

During his address, Mayor Wood expressed deep gratitude to his wife, Jaimi, his daughter, Haley, and his family for their continued support, as well as to AIM’s staff and member communities for their partnership and dedication.

Mayor Wood then formally passed the gavel to Mayor Ryan Daniels, who will serve as AIM’s next president.

“I know Mayor Daniels will build on the great progress we’ve made together,” Wood said. “The work of AIM never ends—because the work of local government never ends. Our communities depend on us to be strong, steady, and forward-looking. And I have no doubt that the best is yet to come.”

Mayor Wood’s term as AIM President stands as a testament to his vision, collaborative spirit, and unwavering commitment to public service. Under his leadership, AIM continued to elevate the voice of local government in state policymaking while empowering communities to innovate and thrive.
