This year’s Youth Advisory Council is made up of a diverse group of high school students from across the community who have been selected for their leadership, academic achievements, and dedication to civic engagement. These young leaders will work directly with Mayor Wood and other city officials, providing a youth perspective on local government, policy, and community initiatives.
The Youth Advisory Council offers these students a unique opportunity to engage with the civic process, develop leadership skills, and learn about public service. Over the course of the year, the Council will meet regularly to discuss issues important to Mishawaka’s youth, provide feedback on city projects, and help create initiatives that will have a lasting impact on the community.
“I’m incredibly proud of these young leaders,” said Mayor Wood. “Their energy, ideas, and dedication are exactly what we need to keep Mishawaka moving forward. The Youth Advisory Council gives our city’s future leaders a chance to have their voices heard and to shape the direction of our community.”
The public is invited to attend tonight’s Common Council meeting at 6:00 PM to witness the swearing-in of these outstanding students and to celebrate their commitment to Mishawaka’s future.
