Mishawaka Police Department Welcomes Two New Patrol Officers

The City of Mishawaka and Mishawaka Police Department are pleased to welcome Collin Allen and Zachary Roberts as the department’s newest Probationary Patrol Officers.

Both officers successfully completed the Mishawaka Police Department’s comprehensive applicant process, including all required testing, medical and psychological examinations, and approval by the Police Pension Board. Allen and Roberts also successfully completed their training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, graduating on August 20, 2026.

Following completion of these important milestones, the Mishawaka Board of Public Works and Safety approved Allen and Roberts to be sworn in as Probationary Patrol Officers on August 25.

Officer Collin Allen is from Plymouth, Indiana, and graduated from LaVille Jr.-Sr. High School in 2023. Allen also serves our country as a member of the Army National Guard, where he is a motor transport operator with responsibilities that include the transportation and handling of ammunition and explosives. Outside of work and military service, he enjoys hunting, fishing, weightlifting and running.

Officer Zachary Roberts is from South Bend and graduated from Community Baptist Christian School in 2014. He also attended Ivy Tech Community College, studying Business Administration. In his free time, Roberts enjoys camping, running, fishing and hunting.

The addition of Officers Allen and Roberts represents another important investment in the Mishawaka Police Department and the City’s continued commitment to maintaining a professional, well-trained and responsive police force.

We congratulate Officers Collin Allen and Zachary Roberts on completing the demanding selection and academy process and welcome them to the Mishawaka Police Department team. We wish them long, safe and successful careers serving the people of Mishawaka.
