On Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, at the City of Mishawaka Board of Public Works Meeting, the Mishawaka Fire Department sworn in two new MFD recruits. Joining the MFD is Cody Price, and Travis Skaggs.
Cody Price, MFD 261, joins the Mishawaka Fire Department with six years of prior experience working for the Centre Township Fire Department. Most recently, he was a driver and operator. In 2018, he graduated from Penn High School and shortly after in 2023 he became a licensed EMT. He is the brother of Firefighter Clay Price, who is currently serving the Mishawaka Fire Department at Station 1 on the A Shift.
Travis Skaggs, MFD 262, joins the Mishawaka Fire Department with two years of prior experience serving with the Osolo Township Fire Department. Before his time at the Osolo Township Fire Department, he attended Elkhart Christian Academy where he gained certifications at the Elkhart Career Center, graduating in 2022. Skaggs is also a new EMT, and he is looking forward to the opportunity to serve with the Mishawaka Fire Department.
The Mishawaka Fire Department is excited to welcome their two new recruits. With their prior experience, and dedication to public safety, both Price and Skaggs will be valuable assets to the department and the Mishawaka community.
