The Mishawaka Fire Department Is Proud To Announce the Following Promotions!

The Mishawaka Fire Department works efficiently to train its firefighters to uphold the legacy of keeping Mishawaka residents safe. The department is dedicated to minimizing the loss of life and property through suppression, rescue, education, code enforcement, investigation, and other programs. On June 20th, 2024, eight members of the Mishawaka Fire Department completed their probationary year and have now been promoted to Master Firefighter.  

Ethan Baker MFD238 (A Shift Station 3)- is one of the recruits who earned a Master Firefighter title. Since Baker arrived at the MFD, he has obtained new Indiana State Driver Operator General certifications. Baker is also scheduled to begin training in Paramedic classes later this month.  

Evan Baker MFD239 (C Shift Station 1)- has been working effectively since his arrival and has obtained two certifications in EMT-Basic, and Driver Operator General. Baker is also set to begin Paramedic classes this month.  

Preston Geier MFD240 (B Shift Station 4)- has been obtaining certifications left and right. He has received new Indiana State Certifications in Firefighter 1 & 2, Hazmat Awareness and Operations, Driver Operator General, and EMT-B. Earlier this year in April, Geier began Paramedic School at Goshen Hospital and received an application to join the MABAS 201 district Technical Rescue Team.  

Alex Moench MFD 241 (C Shift Station 3)- has obtained new Indiana State Certifications in Hazmat Awareness and Operations, Fire Officer Strategy and Tactics, Driver Operator General, Public Fire and Life Safety Educator 1&2, and has an application to join the MABAS 201 district Technical Rescue Team. Moench has also completed the Indiana River Rescue School. 

Clay Price MFD 242 (A Shift Station 1)- obtained new Indiana State certifications in EMT- Basic and Driver Operator General. 

Nolan Rose MFD 243 (C Shift Station 1)- obtained new Indiana State Certifications in EMT-Basic, and Rose has also completed the Indiana River Rescue School.

Hayden Vogely MFD 244 (B Shift Station 1)- has worked towards new Indiana State Certifications in Firefighter 1 & 2, HazMat Awareness and Operations, Driver Operator General and has an application to join the MABAS 201 district Technical Rescue Team. Vogely is also enrolled in Paramedic School at Goshen Hospital since April of this year.

The MFD is incredibly open to recruits, including firefighters from other areas. Bradford Tyskiewicz has served the Princess City since 2019, after a Lateral Transfer as a full-time firefighter with the Chesterton Fire Department. D/O Tyskiewicz is being promoted from the rank of 1st Class Firefighter to the rank of Driver/Operator. He currently is assigned to Engine 1 on the C Shift. 

The Mishawaka Fire Department is very blessed to work with such impressive people. The promotion of Master Firefighters marks a significant milestone in their careers. Their hard work underlines their dedication and commitment to serving the community and their promotion is an example of the trust placed upon them by their peers. It showcases their hard work, leadership, professionalism, and courage. Moving forward, Mishawaka’s new master firefighters will uphold the highest standards of service while protecting the well-being of the community.
