On Tuesday, August 11th, 2026, the Mishawaka Fire Department welcomed nine new recruits to the Department at Mishawaka City Hall during the Board of Public Works Meeting at 10:00 am.
Congratulations to newest Mishawaka Fire Recruits Jacob Callender, Eric Freel, Landon Hartman, Dominick Haskins, Andrew Imber, Summer Kornrumph, Kendall Pfost, Jacob Pierce, and Darren Vance!
Joined by friends and family, Mishawaka Fire’s newest recruits will start their journey as they learn all that it means to be a firefighter and EMS provider.
Mishawaka Fire Academy will teach Mishawaka’s newest recruits daily operations and emergency response to fire suppression, patient care, and life-saving interventions. As well as push them to grow physically, mentally, and professionally.
Mishawaka’s newest firefighters will learn and uphold our important values, expectations, and standards that define what it means to be a Mishawaka Firefighter.
“Public Safety is a number one priority in the City of Mishawaka,” states Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood. “We don’t just hire anybody.”
The City of Mishawaka is proud to welcome Fire’s nine new recruits. The City is honored to watch them learn and grow.
