Mishawaka partners with Waste Management (WM) to provide our residents with a high-value, low-cost service for the weekly curbside collection of recyclables, trash and garbage, large furniture and appliances, and yard waste. Residents are billed for trash service on their Mishawaka utility bill.

What Belongs in Your Trash Bin
WM provides a 96 gallon cart for weekly trash collection. Containers must be placed against the curb by 6 a.m.
WM also offers collection of bulk items. Mishawaka residents can conveniently receive collection of up to two (2) bulk items each week on their regular collection day.

Residents’ recycling is collected by Waste Management (WM). WM provides one (1) 96-gallon cart (green with yellow lid) for recycling. Residents can place their recycling on their curbside on the same day as their trash collection day.
Please ensure your trash and recycling items are not commingled. For helpful tips on what items should be recycled, download the following information sheets.
