Air Quality Action Day Extended for Fine Particulate Matter – Friday, June 6th

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has declared that tomorrow June 6th is an Air Quality Action Day in northern Indiana for Fine Particulate Matter.

Sensitive groups (people with respiratory diseases, older adults, and children) should reduce prolonged outdoor exertion, and continue checking air quality this weekend to determine when it is best to be active outdoors.

  2. Perform regular vehicle maintenance
  3. Conserve fuel by combining trips
  4. Refuel your car in the evening
  5. Reduce engine idling time
