A team working with Mishawaka Utilities Water Division may come to your door the week of August 3 to identify the material of the water service line in your basement.
Mishawaka Utilities is working to identify water service lines that may contain lead. During the week of August 3, 2026, Mishawaka Utilities staff and Arcadis contractors will be visiting homes between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM to conduct free, voluntary inspections of water service lines. If our team visits your home, they will ask for permission to briefly enter and check the service line near your water meter, which is often in the basement. The inspection takes about 5 to 10 minutes, will not affect water service, and helps the Water Division update records and support future lead-reduction efforts.
