Mayor Dave Wood was recently honored as one of the Alumni of the Year by Indiana University South Bend (IUSB). This recognition was part of the third annual Night of the Titans event held on September 17, 2024. Mayor Wood was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the community and his alma mater. This prestigious honor celebrates Mayor Wood’s commitment to public service, leadership, and the significant impact he has made in Mishawaka and beyond.
A proud IUSB graduate, Mayor Wood has always maintained a strong connection to the university. After earning his degree from the IUSB School of Humanities and Social Sciences, he embarked on a career dedicated to improving the quality of life for the residents of Mishawaka. Mayor Dave Wood has been serving as the Mayor of Mishawaka, Indiana, since 2010. He initially took office to complete the term of his predecessor, Mayor Jeff Rea, and has been re-elected multiple times since then. Before becoming mayor, Dave Wood served on the Mishawaka Common Council.
Under his leadership, Mishawaka has experienced tremendous growth and development. Mayor Wood has championed numerous initiatives, from enhancing public safety and infrastructure to promoting economic development and environmental stewardship. His dedication to making Mishawaka a vibrant, thriving community is evident in every project he undertakes.
