JOB TITLE – ICE RINK ATTENDANT
DEPARTMENT: Parks Department
SALARY: $12.50 to $14.00 per hour
HOURS: Various
DEFINITION:
Attendants will report directly to the Director and Manager for the winter season.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Ice Skates, AED, First Aid Kit, Computer
JOB LOCATION:
Ironworks Ice Rink
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee must be able to stand, walk, bend, and assist lifting a person. Be able to ice skate or willing to learn. Be able to handle cold weather for up to 45 minutes at a time.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Outside during winter for 30 to 45-minute periods. Sitting and walking inside while preparing food.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Ensure the safety of all patrons
• Identify potential accident hazards
• Be alert to surroundings and prevent accidents
• Enforce all policies, rules, and regulations in a consistent manner
• Respond quickly, intelligently, decisively and in accordance with the established emergency and accident procedures
• Administer first aid
• Inspect the facility and report any irregular activity or unsafe conditions/equipment to the Director or Manager.
ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
• Monitor the ice and all the patrons on it assisting in any situation
• Running computer system, collecting money, and returning correct change.
• Basic food preparation
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and winter break
Ability to ice skate or learn to ice skate
