Mishawaka Utilities Business Office Relocated to New City Hall

After years of service to customers at 126 N. Church Street, the Mishawaka Utilities Business office (MUBO) has relocated to their new office at 107 North Main Street in the new Mishawaka City Hall. While the street and sidewalks on Main Street are under construction, Mishawaka Utilities customers can enter the building via the ramp at the corner of Lincolnway and Main St. They can also park in the City Hall Parking lot located at 100 Lincolnway West and enter through the main Mishawaka City Hall entry way. Because Main Street and the sidewalks in front of the MUBO are under construction, the entry way using the stairs on Main Street is not accessible.

The MU Kiosk is open for payments and payment drop off in the front of the 107 North Main Street and the entry way just off the ramp and under the MU sign. For convenience it is suggested that rate payers wanting to use the MU payment Kiosk, park on the street near the corner of Lincolnway and Main Street and walk up via the ramp to use the MU Kiosk or to enter the Mishawaka Utilities Business Office.

Under Mayor Dave Wood’s leadership, a top priority has been to upgrade Mishawaka’s government facilities to maximize efficiency and service to its citizens for decades to come. The renovated building will be home to the Mishawaka City Hall, Mishawaka Utilities Business Office, and the Mishawaka Police Department.

The subsequent acquisition of the former Liberty Mutual building provided the City of Mishawaka the ability to consolidate three buildings, City Hall, the Police Station, and the Mishawaka Utilities Business Office into one efficient building. The prime downtown location had the added benefit of contributing to the downtown redevelopment efforts by becoming a key centerpiece as well as providing additional public parking for downtown businesses and special events on evenings and weekends.
