Here at the City of Mishawaka, we value all of our employees’ dedication to excellent customer service. When a Mishawaka employee is dedicated to their craft, they deserve to be spotlighted. A Mishawaka employee who serves as an amazing example of being incredible in their field is Joe Mauro.
Joe Mauro has been a part of the Mishawaka Utilities Water Division for six years and provides incredible service as a meter installer. Mauro will always take overtime and has even left family events when an emergency shut off or other problems arise.
Mauro’s family has deep roots in Mishawaka, and he was brought up with a strong work ethic. He never complains, and he truly cares about the City of Mishawaka which he calls home.
Mauro is a crucial asset to Mishawaka as he is always lending a helping hand to his fellow colleagues, and he treats all he encounters with kindness and respect. Not only is he dependable, but his friendly and easygoing nature makes him a pleasure to work with at the Water Utility and with the customers he interacts with each day.
Mauro showcased his extraordinary customer service on Thursday, May 7th, 2026. Mauro installed a new water meter for a customer, Vivian Alvey. Alvey was so impressed by how polite, and time efficient Mauro is. He was able to install the new water meter in 15 minutes, which Alvey appreciated.
“He was fantastic, polite, and was a great PR person for Mishawaka Utilities.” states Alvey.
Joe Mauro is always willing to go above and beyond, and his dedication to the City of Mishawaka is a testament to that. Mauro’s commitment, positive attitude, and willingness to go the extra mile truly reflect the pride he brings to serving the City of Mishawaka.
