Once we move through an area, we will not return on your scheduled day. Leaves may always be bagged and put out with your weekly trash pick-up or taken to the Mishawaka Recycling Center, 1105 E. 5th St., from 8:30am to 3:15pm, Tuesday through Saturday if you are a City of Mishawaka resident. MACOG and Transpo Plan for the Future

The Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG) and South Bend Public Transportation Corporation (Transpo), through a Federal Transit Authority (FTA) grant, are conducting the CONNECT Transit Plan. CONNECT will study the Interurban Trolley and Transpo fixed routes transit systems that service South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart and Goshen in St. Joseph and Elkhart counties.

What is the CONNECT Transit Plan?

CONNECT is a collaborative transit plan to study the Interurban Trolley and Transpo fixed routes transit systems that serve South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart and Goshen in St. Joseph and Elkhart counties. The plan will look at alternative ways to balance important but competing priorities like improving the frequency and span of service versus adding new service areas and new routes. The result will be a 10-year plan to improve transit services across the region.

How Can I Become Involved?

CONNECT will strive to set the stage for the most inclusive, authentic outreach and engagement, ensuring the right people will be in the room and a cross section of the region will have a seat at the table. MACOG and Transpo invite all in the region to be involved in the CONNECT Transit Plan through a series of community forums and meetings to be held in person, virtually and/or live streamed on MACOG and Transpo’s social media sites.

Where Can I Find More Information?

Transpo and MACOG have completed an initial round of analysis and engagement around understanding the existing system and asking the public about the overall goals for transit. Using feedback from the public and the assessment of the existing system, the study team has developed four different concepts of what transit in the region could look like. Those concepts are detailed in the Concepts Report which can be found on the Connect website.
