Mayor Dave Wood Swears in 7 new members to the Mishawaka Fire Department

Today was a great day for The Mishawaka Fire Department (MFD) as Mayor Dave Wood was able to swear in 7 new members to the MFD.

These 7 new hires in normal MFD fashion come to us from very different backgrounds and experiences.

Our first two new recruits are brothers, Ethan and Evan Baker.  Ethan comes to us with career fire experience from Baugo Twp. Fire Dept in Elkhart county.  Evan was a also with Baugo but as a Volunteer and also currently serves in the Army National Guard.

Preston Geier is a Mishawaka High School grad who served as a Corpsman in the United States Navy.

Alex Moench made a long trek to Mishawaka from the Tampa, Florida area where he went through a fire and EMT academy.

Clay Price comes from a family of firemen and served in the United States Army as an Infantryman.

Nolan Rose is the young guy of the bunch, while attending Adam’s High School he went through the CTE program at South Bend Fire Department.

Our final recruit sworn in today, thanks to where his last name falls in the alphabet, is Hayden Vogely. Hayden has a Masters Degree, is a former teacher and most recently worked in Behavioral Consulting.

It was an honor to have these 7 men now serving our Princess City!
