Mayor Wood Seeks Citizen Input Through Front Porch Friday

On Friday, June 7th, 2024, Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood will be hosting Front Porch Friday from noon to 1:00 pm. The event will be held on the front porch of the Mishawaka Utilities Business Office at 107 North Main Street, Mishawka.

Mayor Wood often mentions how dedicated he is towards the improvement of our community, and how he will do everything he can to improve the quality of life for citizens of Mishawaka. Mayor Wood works hard to get things done, but only when the community is involved in the process.

The community of Mishawaka, regardless of political view, is involved in serving, solving problems, and making a difference. Mayor Wood wanted a way to receive feedback from citizens face-to-face, and in 2023, he had the idea of creating an event for citizens to voice their ideas and opinions directly with him. Mayor Wood and Mishawaka staff members concluded on Front Porch Friday.

“Front porches are as American as apple pie, and the history of the American front porch is in some ways the history of the American people as well,” says Mayor Wood. “It is a place to gather and experience community and have conversations with family and friends.”

Front Porch Friday is a place for any Mishawaka citizen to sit and talk with Mayor Wood one-on-one. To serve the citizens of Mishawaka, Mayor Dave Wood wants to have a community conversation and hear most effectively from you. There is no cost or need to RSVP for this event, everyone is welcome at Front Porch Friday.
