Mishawaka Police Department Personnel Announcements

MPD Chief Witkowski is pleased to announce that Police Applicant Tanner Ducomb has completed all department testing and investigation, physicals and examinations. Tanner comes to us with police experience, as he is a lateral transfer from Pokagon Police Department.

The Board of Public Works and Safety gave their approval and Tanner Ducomb was sworn in by Mayor Dave Wood as a Probationary Patrol Officer Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

Chief Witkowski also announced that Officer Emma Overton has announced her resignation from the Mishawaka Police Department effective June 6, 2023.

Emma has decided, for family reasons, to break away from her career as a police officer and has accepted the newly created civilian position as Police Recruiter with the MPD.

For the past four years Officer Overton has served the City of Mishawaka with great pride and dignity. We thank her for her service with the MPD and look forward to continuing working with her as our new civilian Police Recruiter.
