The Mayor Dave Wood Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) is excited to announce the launch of the Shoe City Patronicity crowdfunding campaign!
This initiative, part of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s (IHCDA) CreatINg Places program, aims to bring an inspiring and interactive public art installation to downtown Mishawaka.
The Shoe City project will celebrate Mishawaka’s rich history as a manufacturing hub for the shoe industry while enhancing the city’s cultural landscape. Once fully funded, the project will feature artistic shoe sculptures designed by local artists, offering residents and visitors a unique way to engage with our city’s heritage.
“The MYAC is an incredible group of young leaders who are passionate about making a lasting impact on our community,” said Mayor Dave Wood. “This project not only honors our past but also creates a vibrant space for future generations to enjoy.”
Through the CreatINg Places program, IHCDA will provide a dollar-for-dollar match if the campaign reaches its fundraising goal, doubling the impact of every donation. Community members can support the project and track its progress by visiting: www.patronicity.com/projectshoecity
MYAC invites residents, businesses, and community organizations to join in bringing Shoe City to life. Every contribution helps shape Mishawaka’s future while honoring its storied past.
