MISHAWAKA, Ind., Marh 19, 2025 – The City of Mishawaka and Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) are reminding the public of work being done on high voltage power lines at the Pricket Marina Dog Park.  Out of an abundance of caution amid an ongoing project, a temporary fence has been installed to separate the active construction area from the usable part of the dog park. The Pricket Marina Dog Park has remained open to the community and pets since the safety fence was installed. The southern portion of the dog park is currently open, while the northern half will remain closed through early summer, weather permitting. Safety is paramount, and dogs and their owners must not enter the construction zone at any time.  Regular patrols of the park are ongoing to ensure the public’s safety.  During the duration of the project, we must mandate that community members stay out of the active construction zone and keep your distance from workers and equipment for your safety.

This Summer Is A Hot One, But The Activities In Mishawaka Are Even Hotter!

While students, families, and the community are on summer break, the city of Mishawaka has been working hard to provide the community with immense amounts of activities on the agenda. The city is always open and accessible for family fun activities, and there is always something going on within the city, especially during summer. There are tons of events planned events for citizens of all ages to enjoy with friends and family.

Here at Mishawaka, we pride ourselves on hosting events that bring the community together to have fun in a safe environment. The Mishawaka Parks Department works vigorously behind the scenes to ensure the best of times for the community. One factor about a handful of Mishawaka’s events is that they do not break the bank. The Parks Department tries to plan many events free of charge for the attendees. One huge event being held all through the summer months is the Summer Concert Series 2024. The Summer Concert Series is held on a series of days; Mondays from 7:00-8:30 pm at Battell Park, Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 pm at Ball Band Biergarten, and Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 pm at Central Park. These concerts are completely free and go on until the last week of August.

During July, there will also be Food Truck Fridays. Food Truck Fridays will be held every Friday in July ending on July 26th at 230 Ironworks Ave, Ball Band Biergarten. Food Truck Fridays will include food trucks at a low price, and Sun King Brewery will also be in Biergarten from 5-9 pm every Friday, serving their iconic brews!

This coming Saturday at Ironworks Plaza, Foam Fest will splash in from 12-3 pm. Foam Fest will include a foam party, waterslides, a dunk tank, and pedal carts. Foam Fest will provide guests with a way to cool off after a hot week for the cost of $5 at the gate! Following, on June 29th, there will be an Independence Day Celebration located at Central Park from 3-10 pm. There will be live music, food, games, beer, fireworks, and participating vendors.

Mishawaka Parks Department has worked hard to provide nothing but the best of the best for the community. There is always something to do in Mishawaka, and if you are interested in more events to participate in, the city calendar located on the website is an easily accessible source to provide knowledge of more upcoming events.
