Mayor Dave Wood and Parks Superintendent, Phil Blasko, announce the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the newly renovated Battell Community Center. The ceremony will take place at the facility located at 904 N. Main St, on Monday, October 10th at 5:30 pm. Facility tours will follow the ceremony until 6:45pm and a showing of the Wizard of Oz in the Auditorium at will begin at 7:00 pm.
Join Ed Chamberlin as he shares some highlights of the films he has created on the history of the city, while discussing the process of producing his Mishawaka Series of documentaries.
Friday October 7th at 7:00 pm at the Battell Community Center Auditorium.
Join Mishawaka Parks as they host the Fall Harvestfest (formerly Oktoberfest) on October 8th from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Beutter Park. The event will feature music, kids crafts and games, a family hayride, the Michiana Chili Cook-Off, vendor booths and a beverage garden.
New in 2016...the Battell Community Center is offering a Youth Basketball League! This eight week program will be separated into 2 leagues: 3 - 4 year olds and 5 - 6 year olds. Rules will be modified to help kids have a great time learning basketball and being successful. Practices will be held on Wednesdays and games will be on Saturdays at Battell. Registration is $30 per child and ends October 12th.
