Twin Branch Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held, weather permitting, on Friday, May 26th at 11am. The ceremony will include students from Twin Branch School and various City officials who played a part in the project. The public is invited to attend.

“We have made it our mission to incorporate inclusive playground equipment when designing our parks to ensure that no child is left out,” commented Park Superintendent Phil Blasko. "This newly designed playground has facilities designed for inclusive play with unique equipment such as musical instruments and a We-Saw, allowing children of all abilities to play on the same piece of equipment simultaneously."

The $250,000 renovation also included the construction of a new parking area on the east side of the park that was recently completed by the City’s contractor John Boettcher Sewer and Excavating. Another fundamental change to the park was the elimination of a safety issue by removing the remnants of a gravel drive that used to exist through the middle of the park.

The playground also features a 34ft zipline, two saddle spinners, two bay swing sets with a bucket swing for children of all abilities, a freestanding play structure featuring a rock wall, four and six foot slides, as well as unique climbers and monkey bars.

A third phase is tentatively planned for 2018 if funding is available and is approved. The third phase would replace existing restrooms, provide additional walks, and could include a new play courts.
