Mishawaka Police Announce Officer of the Quarter

Mishawaka Police Chief Ken Witkowski announced that Detective Lt. Robert Pawlowski, currently assigned to the Investigative Division, as the recipient of the Mishawaka Police Department's "Officer of the First Quarter for 2015." Lt. Pawlowski received the award for response when observing gunshots fired from an apartment as he was driving home after his regular shift.

"Lt. Pawloski's actions were not only courageous, but highly impressive," commented Chief Witkowski. "His calm demeanor and vision allowed the scene to be tightly secured within a matter of minutes. As a result, over 3 pounds of marijuana, 1.1 ounces of cocaine, two handguns and ammunition, as well as various narcotic paraphernalia including digital scales and packaging materials were recovered from the scene."

Three arrests were made with charges including maintaining a common nuisance, dealing and possession of cocaine, dealing and possession of marijuana, and criminal recklessness with a firearm.
